Jump to video index point Hello, I'm Guy Dyas
Jump to video index point and er, I'm the production designer on the X-Men 2.
Jump to video index point My job is to conceptualise the overall look of the film.
Jump to video index point There are something like 68 sets, in total.
Jump to video index point In this film, the X-Men actually sort of go out into the world
Jump to video index point and interact with other humans
Jump to video index point so there was a lot of leeway to expand upon the original vision of the first film.
Jump to video index point So this is Magneto's plastic prison.
Jump to video index point The set is about twenty square feet, its not very big at all.
Jump to video index point There are a number of props and pieces of furniture here,
Jump to video index point to sort of help sell the idea that we really are in a plastic world
Jump to video index point So, here we are in the metal detection area.
Jump to video index point This space has been conceived to act as a transition
Jump to video index point between where Magneto is held
Jump to video index point and the outside world which goes on beyond its wall.
Jump to video index point And so the set needed to have this, almost 2001 feel about it
Jump to video index point and it really is the last sort of effort to make sure that
Jump to video index point there's absolutely no metal on people before they go in to visit Magneto.
Jump to video index point We're here on the set of the White House.
Jump to video index point we're currently in the Oval Office.
Jump to video index point Over here we have a replica of the Presidential desk.
Jump to video index point err , which has actually been hand made for the show.
Jump to video index point If you look up, you can see we don't actually have a ceiling.
Jump to video index point This was a requirement for the stunt crew, who will be coming here and doing some amazing things.
Jump to video index point And you'll notice some of the mouldings, we have an 'X' up here
Jump to video index point which actually does exist (sniggers) in the real White House.
Jump to video index point And we're here today at the X-Mansion set, on the bank of the studios.
Jump to video index point We have a sequence of events where
Jump to video index point er the children are surprised in their beds and attacked
Jump to video index point and er need to escape.
Jump to video index point So built into the set, we have a number of secret passages.
Jump to video index point And down at this end where they're currently shooting
Jump to video index point we have a stunt wall, where a couple of guys are gonna come
Jump to video index point flying through that wall.
Sound effects
Jump to video index point Crash!
Jump to video index point Crash
Jump to video index point Loud explosion
